Increasing vertical jump

Programs to increase vertical jump height aim to help individuals reach their potential in a number of sports. Increasing the height of your vertical jump often involves specific training to increase the strength and power of muscles in your legs. The program:  The Jump Manual is a downloadable electronic manual that includes comprehensive coaching for increasing your vertical jump. There are nine variables affecting vertical jump height that the program focuses on. The author claims that if you stick to the program you will increase your vertical jump by 10 inches! This sounds a little extreme to me and might be a best-case scenario, but I figure if my vertical jump improves even a couple of inches it would be worth the money. Because it is in an electronic format the manual includes videos (which were good for the exercises) as well as printable workouts and pictures. Included with the program is access to the ‘Jumpers Forum,’ which may be of interest to some (but not me). It certainly is comprehensive though (even includes nutrition information). However, you will require determination to keep up the program over a full 12 weeks.

Comments: To be honest, if you want to see real improvements in the height of your vertical jump you are going to have to put in some serious effort regardless of what program you follow. I’m also sceptical about the 10 inch improvement claim, but on the other hand dunking would be a fair bit easier for me with even a much more modest improvement.
Verdict: This is a clear comprehensive program, designed to coach you to an improved vertical jump. I think it’s the best in this category for increasing vertical jump. Be prepared that you will have to be willing to put in the effort and training to increase your vertical jump no matter what you do. However, like many things in life, the greatest rewards usually require some work. Even if you improve you jump by 5 inches, I think you’d be pretty happy with that!
